Life & Hope
I looked up to my dad to no end.
He was brave.
Escaping a repressive regime
for a better life.
He was a black belt.
Leading Lokomotíva Judo,
and a Slovak champion.
He was a skilled veterinarian.
The only honors graduate
in his class.
He was a teacher.
Setting his ego aside
to be a student.
His clients loved him,
his friends loved him,
his family loved him.
He was charismatic,
he was charming,
and he was handsome.
He playing banjo,
and the trumpet
and he told me stories.
He built a deck,
he built a pool,
and always built for his family.
He was sensitive,
and emotional.
Words touched his soul.
He was a loving father,
a loving husband,
and he was awesome.
A better man
could not have existed
on this earth.
